I did a walking tour of the traditionally Irish republican Falls Road with a friend who grew up there during the Troubles (it's recounted in Adventures in Belfast), and several walking tours with friends who grew up in loyalist East Belfast. It brings the history alive, and helps the outsider understand the cultural divisions that still exist in the North.<br /><br />A taxi tour is a great way for visitors to get a real feel for the city's history.
